Salem Pastoral Counseling Center has been serving the Salem area since 1980. We believe each person has value and we are committed to a ministry of counseling, compassion, and care. We are dedicated to serving the community and are one of a few counseling centers in the area that offers both a sliding fee scale as well as an established scholarship program. Our Client Assistance Program (CAP) is a part of our mission as a nonprofit and allows us to offer services at a lower cost to persons in need.

There is great need for more accessible counseling services for those in financially difficult times. The CAP fund is used to help those who do not have health insurance, are in transition between insurances, and/or have a high deductible with their insurance and cannot afford the out of pocket rate. This scholarship fund can provide up to FULL COVERAGE of the cost of counseling so that we can provide these services to those in need.

In 2024, SPCC provided 846 sessions paid for by the Client Assistance Program, equivalent to $54,516.

Each year, we host an annual dinner and auction fundraiser to benefit the CAP fund. The CAP fund is an essential part of our service to the community and this event is a huge contribution to CAP each year, with 2025's fundraiser bringing in just over $17,500! WOW! We believe this year could bring in even more!
