What is Grand Entry?
Grand Entry marks the official start of each dance session. Everyone is asked to stand as flags are brought into the arena—including the U.S. flag, tribal flags, and Eagle Staffs—typically carried by veterans.
Can I Dance?
Yes! Everyone is welcome to join during Intertribal Dances, a time when all are invited to dance together. The Emcee will let you know when to join.
What is Regalia?
Regalia is not a costume—it holds deep cultural and spiritual meaning. Please refrain from calling it a costume. Powwow participants are not performers; they are members of Native communities celebrating their culture.
Etiquette & Reminders:
Please stand during Grand Entry to show respect.
Listen to the Emcee for guidance, especially regarding when photography and recording are not permitted.
Do not walk through the dance circle—please walk around it.
Some seating will be reserved for dancers, singers, and veterans.
This is a free, family-friendly event.
No alcohol, drugs, or weapons allowed.
