I learned something recently that made me see the word "broadcast" a little differently.
Before it had anything to do with radio, broadcasting was a farming term.
Farmers “broadcast” seed by scattering it widely across a field. They don't place each seed carefully in one particular spot. They spread it far and wide, trusting that it will land where needed to take root and grow.
I can’t stop thinking about how perfectly that describes what we get to do at Hope 107.9.
Every day, we broadcast across the Willamette Valley. But we’re sending out more than music and voices. We’re scattering seeds of hope.
A song that brings peace in the midst of someone's storm. An encouraging thought from one of our DJs that lands in the heart of a listener who’s having a hard day. Laughter and conversations that help someone with a tough job get through each day.
We don’t always get to see where those seeds land.
Some may take root immediately. Others may sit quietly for a while. But every day, God gives us the opportunity to keep sowing, to fill our community with reminders of His love, His faithfulness, and the hope we have in Jesus.
And here’s something I especially love: we don’t do that alone.
Next week is our fall fundraiser, and when you financially support Hope, you’re helping us keep those seeds going out through the music, the stories, the encouragement, and the hope we share every day.
You’re part of the broadcast.
And together, we get to keep scattering hope throughout our community, trusting God with where it takes root.
