Something Good - Sleep Trailers

Jason Christensen is a guy who lives in Albany, and like so many of us, is often heartbroken by the many people he sees each day who clearly don’t have a place to sleep at night. So, he decided to do something about it!

Jason designed and built a mobile structure called a "Sleep Trailer." It’s a two-story unit that can sleep up to 8 people. People who sleep there can a also lock up their belongings during the day. The idea is, if you can give someone a safe place to sleep for a few nights, then that person can start thinking more clearly about their next steps. At that point, they are connected with other programs in the community that can help.

The first sleep trailer, and the pilot program was set up in Lebanon. During the first few months of the program, they housed 35 different people, 18 of whom they helped out of homelessness!

You can learn more and even help Jason with his mission of providing the help and hope that comes with a good night's sleep at sleeptrailer.com
