Santiam Heritage Foundation will present the fifth of eight History Talks for 2026 on Saturday, June 20 between 3:00 and 4:30pm at Brown House Event Center.

This History Talk will be presented by the Silverton Country Historical Society and the topic will be
Voc-Ag at Silverton High School

In 1927 as part of the Federally funded Smith-Hughes program, Silverton High School Vocational Agriculture teacher Warren E. Crabtree took it upon himself to document the activities of Silverton High School’s Ag program. This film and it's accompanied presentation offers a unique view of common agricultural techniques in the 1920s. Much of which still relied on horsepowered devices.
