    “Note-Worthy” - The HOPE 107.9 Music Blog – August 2014

So, what’s new in the music world at Hope 107.9?  Well, we’re loving your participation in our monthly Music Tests!  This really (and I mean REALLY!) helps us out!  We love knowing what our audience thinks about the music we play and we value your feedback and suggestions on how we can improve!

Here are just a few of the results from our July Music Test…

Your favorite?  Thrive by Casting Crowns! (Click Here)

The one that had a great run, but you’re ready to let rest a bit?  The Broken Beautiful by Ellie Holcomb (Click Here)

The one you’re just getting to know, but are already liking quite a bit?  MercyMe’s Greater! (Click Here)

Here are a few of the comments we received…

“I enjoy the music from hope 1079! It really does lift my spirit every day! The right song always seems to come on at the perfect moment.”

“It would be nice if there was a greater variety of Christian music styles.”

“I really enjoy the selection of songs played…even my kids sing along and ask me to rewind and play it again!”

So, thanks, again, for participating and maybe ask a friend or two to listen and participate as well!  Our August test is underway and you can be entered to win a $75 Abby’s Pizza Gift Card!

This morning we’ve added a new song by David Crowder called, “Come as You Are.”  I have to say this is one of my favorite songs right now.  It’s lyrically spot on and has a beautiful modern day hymn sound.  Here are just a few of the lyrics:

“Come out of sadness from wherever you’ve been

Come broken hearted let rescue begin

Come find your mercy, Oh sinner, come kneel

Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal

So, lay down your burdens, Lay down your shame

All who are broken, Lift up your face

Oh wanderer, come home, you’re not too far

So, lay down your hurt, Lay down your heart

    Come as you are”

Isn’t that amazing?  Just simple words strung together in a powerful way…Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal.  We certainly need to hear that message right now!  Be listening for this one!

This next week I’m heading out to the Christian Music Broadcaster’s conference and will have the privilege of seeing many of the artists whose music we play here on Hope, not to mention some great up and coming artists! (Be watching our Facebook page for pics of some of your favorites!)  This is always an exciting time as there are many informative keynote speakers as well as several helpful workshops to attend – all to help us serve you better and develop creative ways to reach more people who need Jesus!

Thanks for checking out the music blog and stay tuned!

    In His Hope,

    Laurie Ann
